What does it feels like for a child not to see his father ever again?
3rd June 2014
On the first of June 2014, Rouhani and his administration executed the political prisoner Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani.
Prior to his execution, his son, his mother and his sister pleaded to the international organizations and human rights groups to save Golamreza. Golamreza’s son did not know if he would ever see his father again.
The European Union and other Western and European governments are busy with their negotiations in relation to Iran’s nuclear program and do not wish to “jeopardise” these negotiations with issues of human rights in Iran. While the Western governments are waiting for Rouhani to make “reforms” in Iran, the Western and European corporate media continue their media blackout of the daily torture and executions that takes place in Iran, thus in part legitimizing and supporting these atrocities. Rouhani and his administration have continued the same pattern of killing and atrocity that has been going on in Iran for over 35 years.
Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani is only one example of the thousands of political prisoners in Iran. According to his family, Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani was arrested in 2007 on the charges of “cooperating with Sima-ye Azadi Television (the Mojahedin-e Khalgh Organization TV station),” for which the Rafsanjan Revolutionary Court sentenced him to three years in prison and three more years of suspended prison term. Following objection by the prosecutor, his sentence was changed to six years in prison. While serving his six-year prison sentence in Rafsanjan Prison, his case file was transferred to Tehran through the illegal intervention of Judge Heydarifar, where he was eventually sentenced to death. During this time he was subjected to enormous psychological and physical torture including the threat of execution in order to produce a false confession from him.
Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani was one of the prisoners of Evin prison-ward 350 which was brutally attacked by the regime on 17 April 2014.
Rouhani and his regime have continued carrying out execution sentences on a daily basis in different prisons under various pretexts. While the regime executes prisoners, publically and secretly, they also use the technique of “silent death” to kill more prisoners by depriving them from medical attention.
We ask you to be the voice of Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani and his family.
